Luderin Darbone cofounded the Hackberry Ramblers, which delivered a distinctive blend of Cajun music and western swing.

He and fellow cofounder Edwin Duhon remained active with the group from its 1933 formation until 2005.

Born in Evangeline, Louisiana, on January 14, 1913, fiddler Luderin Darbone performed and recorded with the Hackberry Ramblers for more than seven decades, from 1933 until 2005.

He and fellow cofounder Edwin Duhon remained active with the group through a range of lineup additions, stylistic twists, and live and recording successes, which included Grammy-nominated 1997 album Deep Water. Read more about the Hackberry Ramblers.
